Editing With Rhythm

This is a visual guide on how you can use the BPM of music or soundtrack to help you pace your edits better. Having your cut happening at the right point will make the video more comfortable to watch.

Even if your edits don’t contain any music or sound, you can use the motion or movement you see in your clip as a rhythm guide.
For example, when you have a full shot of a person walking, you can use the footsteps as a rhythm guide.
The same goes when you have a fighting sequence, the punches, kicks and hits can be a great rhythm guide for your cuts.
